John
Owner/CEO
John is the owner and founder of JW Inspection Services of Michigan. He and his wife, Tammy, started the company in 2001 with a simple goal: build a team of great people who care about doing the job right.
Now in its 25th year, JW has grown into a full-service inspection company completing nearly 4,500 inspections each year. John credits that growth to the inspectors and office staff who have helped build the company—people with great personalities, strong work ethic, and a commitment to being the best at what they do.
After 25 years, John remains proudest of the team they’ve built and the thousands of families JW has had the opportunity to serve.
Tammy
Co-Owner/Office Manager
Tammy has been part of JW Inspection Services since the beginning, helping John build the company while raising their two sons. Over the past 25 years, she has worked behind the scenes in countless ways and has watched JW grow from a small family business into the team it is today.
She is especially proud of the people who make up JW and the commitment they share to serving clients throughout Michigan.
When she’s not working behind the scenes, Tammy enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outside with her dog, and enjoying all four seasons Michigan has to offer.
Bobbie
Office Administration
Bobbie’s background comes from over 15 years in banking and Mortgage closing, over 3 years in real estate office managing and transaction coordination and now 10+ years(so far) with JW Inspection Services of MI. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, often camping, volunteering for Veteran Associations, or singing karaoke.
Jessie
Sales and Marketing
Jessie leads sales and marketing for JW, focusing on building strong relationships, growing the JW brand, and keeping the company connected with clients, agents, and the communities we serve. With a background in marketing, business development, and client relations, she brings creativity, energy, and a people-first approach to everything she does.
Outside of JW, Jessie and her husband have a large blended family with six kids and two dogs, so life is rarely quiet. Her favorite way to spend her time is with any combination of them.
Lisa
Office Administration
Lisa has been in the mortgage industry for over 20 years. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has 2 sons and a grandson (with another on the way). Lisa also volunteers for Veterans Associations and Rachael’s Angels, helping less fortunate children at Christmas.
George
Inspector
George brings a strong background in the building trades and has been a part of the JW team for 18 years. With nearly two decades of experience inspecting homes, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every inspection.
Outside of JW, George is heavily involved with AMVETS, where he dedicates his time to supporting fellow veterans. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Dan
Inspector
Dan grew up fixing/building things with his family, many are in the construction trade. In college he worked full time and studied auto mechanics. He now has enjoyed doing inspections for over 10 years. You can usually find him and his wife Lee at the rink watching his son play hockey or at the ball fields coaching his son or daughter.
Sean
Inspector
Sean has been inspecting homes for nearly 10 years and brings a strong hands-on background to every inspection. He is a licensed builder and spent more than eight years working on foundations and home repairs before becoming an inspector, giving him a practical understanding of how homes are built and how problems develop over time.
Sean is also a certified drone pilot, allowing him to safely and effectively inspect areas that may otherwise be difficult to access.
A Grand Rapids native, Sean is married with two kids and enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible.
Eric
Inspector
Eric began his career in carpentry at just 17 years old and has spent decades working in residential and commercial construction. Over the years, he has led crews, worked as a project manager for Lennar Homes, owned his own carpentry business, and built extensive hands-on experience that he now brings to every inspection.
When he’s not inspecting, Eric still enjoys working on homes, whether he’s flipping a property or helping family and friends with projects.
Eric and his wife, Andrea, have been together for almost 30 years and have a daughter who keeps them plenty busy.
Gerry
Inspector
Gerry brings a people-first approach to home inspections, along with a strong interest in how homes work and the systems that keep them running. After training and becoming certified as a home inspector, he found a career that combined his curiosity, attention to detail, and love of working with people.
Outside of JW, Gerry is a husband, father, and longtime Detroit-area musician who performs with Laughing Madmen & The Rearrangements. He also enjoys spending time outdoors whenever he gets the chance.
John
Inspector
John Jr. brings a strong hands-on construction background to every inspection. As the son of JW owners John and Tammy Wade, he grew up around the business and has continued that family connection through his own experience in the field.
After studying at Ferris State University, John Jr. worked in residential framing before spending five years in foundation repair and basement water mitigation, eventually moving into a foreman role overseeing crews and projects. That experience gave him a strong understanding of foundations, moisture issues, and how problems can develop below the surface of a home.
Since joining JW, he has continued building on that knowledge through extensive training in home inspections as well as well and septic inspections, helping clients better understand the home they’re buying and the systems that matter most.
Damon
Inspector
Damon is a retired Marine with an extensive background in the trades and a genuine passion for working on homes. His hands-on experience and attention to detail give him a practical approach to every inspection.
A Kalamazoo resident, Damon enjoys spending time with his family and keeping up with sports when he’s not working.
Ryan
Inspector
Ryan brings a well-rounded background to every inspection, with experience in real estate, residential and commercial construction, photography and videography, and the military. His years in these industries have given him a strong eye for detail and a practical understanding of how homes and buildings come together.
In addition to inspecting, Ryan is also helping develop JW’s own inspection reporting tools and systems, combining his field experience with programming to help make the inspection process even better for our team and clients.
Outside of work, Ryan and his wife stay busy raising their three kids.
John
Inspector
John brings a strong background in foundations and energy auditing to the JW team. His experience as an energy auditor gave him an in-depth understanding of how a home works as a complete system—from insulation and air leakage to heating, cooling, ventilation, and overall energy efficiency. Combined with his foundation experience, John brings a knowledgeable and well-rounded approach to every inspection.
Outside of work, John and his wife enjoy boating, spending time with friends and family, and keeping up with their two children and all of their activities.
Mike
Inspector
Mike brings more than 25 years of experience as a builder, along with extensive knowledge across multiple areas of the trades. That hands-on background gives him a practical understanding of how homes are built, how their systems work together, and what buyers should know before making such an important investment.
One of Mike’s strengths is helping home buyers feel comfortable and informed throughout the inspection process. He has a way of breaking things down so they’re easy to understand without making the process feel overwhelming.
Outside of work, Mike and his wife stay plenty busy raising their three teenagers and keeping up with everything that comes along with this stage of life.
Ken
Inspector
Ken brings valuable experience to the JW team after owning and operating his own home inspection company in Utah for four years. That experience gave him a strong understanding of both the technical side of inspections and the importance of helping clients feel informed and confident throughout the process.
Now calling Kalamazoo home, Ken enjoys spending time with his two kids and everything the area has to offer.
Daniel
Inspector
Daniel brings experience across multiple areas of the trades, along with a background in teaching, coaching, and semi-professional athletics. That combination has given him a practical understanding of homes and a natural ability to explain things clearly and help clients feel comfortable throughout the inspection process.
As one of JW’s Spanish-speaking inspectors, Daniel is able to communicate fluently with Spanish-speaking clients, helping them better understand their inspection, ask questions, and navigate the process with confidence.
